What do you see…at sunset?

As I was packing up from a shoot, I was bathed in this warm glow. At first, I denied it. I kept right on packing down my equipment, when it hit me (my dimmer switch takes a while sometimes). I am in love with the sun…sunrise, sunset, over water, eclipsed, through a telescope or through a lens. I have been since I was 13 yrs. old. Fascinated. I noticed this particular evening that though the sun went down, it wasn’t giving up its myriad of colors. It partnered with the clouds to bring forth this vision. I saw many shapes & emotions…a bird taking flight, an angel folding her wings, a dragonfly. Most of all, I felt the flight of my daughter on her journey. All of these images were there to be with her on her next adventure.
“The day is done, and the darkness, Falls from the wings of Night, As a feather is wafted downward, From an eagle in his flight”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

  1. Love the added commentary on this beautiful picture. It would make an awsome header picture for someone’s blog.
