Finding the beauty in winter…

There is something so captivating about watching first light. There’s a hint of a glow then the glow starts to bring color back into your world. If you’re fortunate to be near water, the glow spreads, moves and reflects. The silence is fulfilling.

I was able to capture a slight reflection of the crescent moon in the water. The waning moon and Venus were heralding the dawn on January 31, 2011.

Tripod, tripod, tripod!
Canon EOS 5D
ISO 800 f /5.6 at 1/20 shutter speed
Canon TC-80N3 Timer Remote Controller (Love this remote)
Canon 28-135mm IS lens (28mm capture)
Columbia jacket for warmth
Ski gloves forgotten at home
