How about some Food for Thought..?

How about some Food for Thought..?

I am primarily a Special Events and Family photographer.  Food is not my primary focus but it’s at the many events I photograph so I have enjoyed the challenge over the years.  Restaurant owners and chefs can be quite a handful to deal with…to say it nicely.  I also enjoy that challenge.

Referred to a new client by an amazing friend: MOMROX (check out her fabulous apparel)

Summary:  Meet new client, get trashed by new client because photographers are blood sucking leeches, give it right back to potential new client, set up test shoot, rock out the photos and spend the next month working this one like I haven’t had to in years.  Yep, that sums it up.

This restaurant is new and has a fabulous concept.  It’s Stone’s Cove Kit Bar.  They cook everything right there in the middle of the bar (kitchen/bar hence kit bar).  It’s awesome to watch and delicious to smell.  Great concept.  Great customer service.  I had the opportunity to sample some of the dishes I photographed.  I actually craved them after photographing them they were prepared so well.

Mackinac: bacon, guacamole, cheddar, lettuce, tomato & jalapeño mayo.

I obviously worked with a food stylist that was amazing.  Communication, above all else, is the key to success.  I was very fortunate that the owner allowed me to show him how awesome his food is.  Really.  I’m not blowing sunshine up anyone’s pant leg.  I believe his comment to me was I was showing him, “Food Porn”.  I’m a chick and porn does nothing for me.  I think people are much sexier dressed.  And so is food.  Great food that is dressed to the nines with a little side lighting…now that trips my trigger.
